Nutrition, IV Therapy, and Wellness as Part of an Integrative Approach

Rheumatology care often involves more than treating a painful joint. Sleep, nutrition, physical activity, fatigue, medications, and other aspects of health can all influence how a patient feels and functions.

RTMC incorporates nutritional and wellness services alongside conventional medical treatment through its Nutritional Wellness Therapy program.

Personalized Nutritional Support

Supplements and nutritional products are widely marketed to people with arthritis and chronic health conditions, but not every product is appropriate for every patient.

Some supplements may interact with prescription medications or may not provide the benefit a patient expects.

RTMC’s integrative approach allows physicians to consider nutritional support within the context of the patient’s complete medical treatment.

IV Nutritional Therapy

RTMC provides individualized IV nutritional therapies based on a patient’s medical concerns and other medications.

Depending on the treatment, ingredients may include:

• Vitamin B12
• Vitamin C
• B Complex vitamins
• Glutathione
• Magnesium
• Biotin
• CoQ10

The practice also offers specialized IV options intended for selected nutritional and wellness needs.

Niagen® IV and NAD+ Support

The Nutritional Wellness Therapy program also includes Niagen® IV therapy.

Niagen uses nicotinamide riboside, a form of vitamin B3 that the body converts into NAD+, a coenzyme involved in numerous cellular processes.

Whether a particular IV or nutritional therapy is appropriate should be determined individually rather than based simply on a popular wellness trend.

Wellness Should Complement Medical Care

Nutritional therapy works best when it is part of a larger healthcare plan.

For a patient with arthritis or an autoimmune disease, that plan may also include Rheumatology Services, medications, Physical and Occupational Therapy, infusion treatment, or therapies available through the Innovation Center.

RTMC’s goal is to coordinate these options around the individual patient rather than treating each service in isolation.
