Beyond Traditional Arthritis Care: Exploring RTMC’s Innovation Center

Treating arthritis and musculoskeletal pain does not always involve a single approach. Depending on the diagnosis, symptoms, previous treatments, and individual goals, patients may benefit from a combination of conventional rheumatology care and additional therapeutic options.

The RTMC Innovation Center was created to give appropriate patients access to advanced treatments within the same medical practice where their rheumatologic condition is being managed.

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy

Platelet Rich Plasma, commonly called PRP, is prepared from a patient’s own blood. The blood is processed to concentrate platelets before being introduced into the treatment area.

RTMC has incorporated PRP into its treatment options since 2010.

Depending on the patient, PRP may be considered for certain conditions involving joints, tendons, ligaments, and other musculoskeletal structures.

Regenerative Treatment Options

Selected patients may also be evaluated for additional regenerative approaches.

These can include bone marrow aspirate and adipose derived therapies. Whether one of these approaches is appropriate depends on the patient’s condition, medical history, imaging, previous treatment, and physician evaluation.

These treatments are not appropriate for everyone, which makes the initial medical assessment especially important.

More Than Regenerative Therapy

RTMC’s Innovation Center includes several other treatment options, including:

• NeuroMenda™
• Prolotherapy
• Trigger point injections
• Hyaluronic acid injections
• Ultrasound guided injections
• Energy Boost IV therapy
• Nutritional therapies
• Genetic testing
• Sleep and fitness evaluation
• Fatigue evaluation

These services allow physicians to consider different aspects of a patient’s condition rather than concentrating exclusively on one symptom.

An Integrated Treatment Plan

One of the advantages of receiving these services within a rheumatology practice is coordination.

An innovative treatment does not necessarily replace conventional treatment. Depending on the patient, it may complement medication, Rheumatology Services, rehabilitation, or Nutritional Wellness Therapy.

The goal is to determine which combination of treatments makes sense for the individual patient.
